Haiti (Ayiti), once known as the Pearl of the Antilles was once lush and forested and existed as one of the wealthiest islands in the Caribbean. Although much has been destroyed over time. The conditions that created such a Pearl, still exist, the culture and its people. This blog is a discussion about how to reform, refine, recultivate, rebuild and enhance the Pearl of the Antilles, Ayiti.

The Pearl of the Antilles
Some believed pearls to be the tears of the gods. Others thought them dewdrops filled with moonlight that fell into the ocean and were swallowed by oysters.
A pearl is a natural gem created by a living organism. When a foreign object is introduced into a mussel or oyster the animal coats the irritant with a substance called nacre, the same material with which it builds it's shell. Layers of nacre build up to make a pearl.
Foreign objects have irritated Haiti for hundreds of years, I believe its time for the people of Haiti to take back their pride and culture and strengthen the shell that will protect the Pearl.
